City of Streetsboro Aggregation Program
Important Aggregation Updates:
This notice is to inform you about an upcoming change to the City of Streetsboro’s natural gas aggregation program, for which Eastern Power & Gas has been the supplier.
After careful review of current and projected natural gas market conditions, Eastern Power & Gas has determined it is necessary to conclude the current natural gas aggregation program with the City of Streetsboro. While the program successfully provided residents with a competitive, fixed rate during the high-demand winter season, ongoing market volatility makes it challenging for the aggregation program to consistently offer the most competitive pricing compared to other available options at this time. This decision was made in the best interest of residents to allow flexibility in choosing the best energy options moving forward.
What This Means for You:
- Program End Date: The aggregation program with Eastern Power & Gas will end effective with your April 2025 usage. You will see this change reflected on your May 2025 natural gas bill.
- Automatic Transition: You will be automatically returned to the Enbridge Standard Choice Offer rate provided by your local utility. Your natural gas service will continue without interruption.
- No Action Required: You do not need to take any action to be returned to the utility’s Standard Choice Offer rate.
- No Termination Fee: There is no fee or penalty for this transition back to the utility’s Standard Choice Offer rate.
Your Options Moving Forward:
While you will automatically return to the utility’s Standard Choice Offer, you always have the right to choose your natural gas supplier.

The City of Streetsboro and Eastern Power & Gas (EPG) have made the difficult decision to end our natural gas aggregation program. This decision was made after careful consideration of current natural gas market conditions and in the best interests of our residents. We understand you may have questions, and this FAQ is designed to provide you with clear and honest answers.
FAQs
Why is the natural gas aggregation program ending?
The natural gas market has experienced significant volatility and unforeseen changes in recent months. Initially, the aggregation program with Eastern Power & Gas secured a fixed rate that provided price protection during the winter. However, due to these ongoing market changes, continuing the program under the existing contract, or even under a new fixed-price contract at this time, would likely result in higher prices for residents than you could obtain either through the utility’s standard offer or by choosing a different supplier. The City and Eastern Power & Gas mutually agreed that ending the program now is the most responsible course of action to protect residents from potentially unfavorable pricing.
When will the program end?
Your final billing cycle under the aggregation program with Eastern Power & Gas will be April 2025. You will see the change reflected on your May 2025 bill. You do not need to take any action for this change to occur.
What happens to my natural gas service after the program ends?
You will automatically be returned to the Standard Choice Offer (SCO) rate from Enbridge Gas Ohio, your local natural gas utility. This means your natural gas supply will be provided by the utility at their default rate.
Do I need to do anything to switch back to the utility?
No. The transition back to the utility’s SCO rate will be automatic. You do not need to contact the utility or Eastern Power & Gas.
Can I choose a different natural gas supplier?
Yes, absolutely. After the program ends, you are free to choose any natural gas supplier you wish. You can compare rates and plans from different suppliers on the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) website. The PUCO’s “Apples to Apples” comparison chart is a helpful tool for evaluating your options.
Will I be charged a fee for ending the program?
There are no fees to be switched back to the Standard Choice Offer from the utility.
Was the aggregation program a failure?
Not at all. The aggregation program, with Eastern Power and Gas as the supplier, successfully provided a fixed rate during the winter months. The purpose of the program is, and has always been, to provide our residents with a competitive option for natural gas. At this time, that is through termination.
